Paul Olum Atrium (Willamette Hall)

  • < Back to Spaces

Details

The latest campus facility to come under Scheduling and Event Services management, the four-story Paul Olum Atrium (named after UO's 13th president) is located just inside the south entrance of Willamette Hall and is one of the most impressive interiors on campus.  It features a unique vaulted ceiling, stained concrete floor, and plenty of natural lighting.

At one time a scientist on the Manhattan Project that developed America's first atomic bomb, Olum took strong stands for nuclear disarmament, against apartheid, and for increased state funding for higher education. The building is home to the Physics Department and many associated research groups.
